Year Five
In Year Five we love to explore and find out new things. Foxes Class, Hedgehogs Class and Deer Class hope you visit our page regularly.
Topic - Berry Fritz
We have been studying the work of Berry Fritz in Topic, and have produced wonderful still life paintings using colour to convey light, shade and shape.
Design Technology - Stone Age Shelters
We used our learning on their trip to Campbell Park and created a model Stone Age Shelter. We gathered material from the playground and field to create our masterpieces. It was very messy but fun!
Geography- Bushcraft in the local area
In topic, we explored the local area and completed a number of team building activities. We then went on to build shelters and carrying out water filtering. Although it was cold, it was lots of fun!
History - Building Biscuithenge!
In topic we have been learning about Stonehenge; we created our own Biscuithenge using a selection of biscuits and icing to cement them together. We had to collaborate in a group and recreate Stonehenge. We loved the challenge and worked together to problem solve – the biscuits kept on toppling over!
History - Milton Keynes Museum trip
In Year 5, we have been learning about the Victorians and the Industrial Revolution. Below are some pictures of the fantastic day out we had at Milton Keynes museum exploring different inventions.
Geography
Year 5 have been enjoying using maps to get to know our local area in our Topic lessons. We have been studying the changes in Milton Keynes since the Victorian era, and we have been using our new map skills in a challenge to hunt out places around the town.
